How to Pass a Hair follicle Drug Test For Weed

How can you beat a hair follicle drug test?

What is it, how does it work, and what does it discover?

To begin with, the term “hair follicle drug test” is a misnomer. The hair follicle isn’t being examined.

Hair consists of the hair follicle, the part underneath the skin which is living; then the hair shaft, which is above the skin and is non-living. The hair shaft is what will be tested.

Hair follicle Drug Test

The hair follicle, as you can see, is located beneath the epidermis. They will not test the hair follicle, which is a good thing because it could disclose more recent drug use. Because the drugs don’t have enough time to penetrate the hair shaft above the scalp, hair testing can’t disclose drug use during the last 7 days prior to the test. The hair above the scalp will be put to the test. The first 1.5 inches of hair adjacent to the scalp, must be exact. This will identify any drug use in the last three months.

Hair follicle drug test detection times

Next info given by FMA Health:

Figure 1.

As shown in the chart, for hair tests drugs are detectable after 5 to 7 days, then up to 90 days. Drugs will be measured in the first 1.5 inches of hair closest to the scalp in this test. Hair grows 1.5 inches every 90 days, so that’s the detection window. They could test hair further away from the scalp for a longer period of time, but this is prohibited by protocol and, in some cases, by law.

Figure 2.

That’s about 1.5 inches in the picture above. The technician is going to take about that much hair from right next to the scalp, not the ends of the hair. They can’t utilize hair that’s too far away from the scalp since it could disclose drug use over a long period of time.

How a Hair Drug Test Works

  1. Once you use a drug of abuse, it’s processed by organs in the body and enters the bloodstream.
  2. The drugs reach the hair follicle. Some of it is processed, and some are unmetabolized.
  3. The medications are pushed out of the scalp and into the hair shaft as the hair develops. Every 90 days, the hair grows 1.5 inches.
  4. The technician takes a 1.5-inch section of hair from the scalp and tests it for drugs of abuse.

Pros and Cons: Hair Drug Test Versus Other Types

ProsCons
  • For up to 90 days, it can detect drug use.
  • Cannot be beaten by abstaining for a few days.
  • Hair coloring and bleaching may help you pass a hair drug test.
  • Except for marijuana, which can be detected for up to a month, urine, saliva, and blood tests can reveal drug usage in as little as a week.
  • For most drugs, users can beat any test other than a hair test by abstaining for about a week.
  • Dilution will not help you pass a drug test on your hair.
  • The cost of a hair test is higher.

Passing a Hair Drug Screen

The Macujo Method and the Jerry G Method, which we shall explain further below, are the most reliable techniques to pass a hair drug test. As FMAHealth claims, The Jerry G Method, unlike the Macujo Method, can take up to ten days. If you don’t have a lot of time, you should start with the Macujo approach. Marijuana may stay in your hair follicles if you’ve smoked recently, but they aren’t testing the follicle, but the hair shaft cortex above the scalp.

The Macujo Method

We are not prescribing this method, we’re going to go through one of the most popular methods for passing a hair drug test that may be found online in drug forums. This method has only anecdotal evidence as to its effectiveness. However, because it is a rapid approach, it is occasionally used by persons who need to pass a hair drug test in less than 24 hours (1 day). In any case, putting detergent and acne wash in your hair will harm the hair which is the goal, as that causes drug metabolites to leech out, but can also harm the skin so use at your own risk.

Items needed:
  • Disposable Gloves – to protect your hands from drying out and chemicals
  • Goggles – to protect your eyes from chemicals
  • Pack of liquid Tide detergent – this is an ingredient with proteases that break down proteins and will be going in your hair
  • White vinegar – vinegar contains acetic acid which can help break open the hair shaft
  • Warm water
  • Ultra Clean by Zydot shampoo – one of the most reputable detox shampoos
  • Toxin rid shampoo with Aloe – according to some sources, propylene glycol is the sole ingredient in this recipe that genuinely removes drugs from your hair
  • Towel
  • Sink
  • Shower caps
  • Pink Clean and Clear acne wash

Step 1. First off, soon as you know you have a test, stop using drugs. Now, we’ve told you already hair tests cannot detect drugs used in the last week before the test but there is an exception. Sometimes, if you keep smoking, you sweat, and the drugs in your sweat gets on the hair and you’re busted. So, first and foremost, refrain from consuming narcotics. Some businesses screen for tobacco usage to keep healthcare expenses down, so you may need to quit smoking entirely. Some employers may conduct alcohol tests. Alcohol leaves the blood quickly, but metabolites are detectable in the hair.

Step 2. Rinse your hair with warm water.

Step 3. Put vinegar in your hair. Make sure you get down to the roots. That is the part they are going to test.

Step 4. With the vinegar still in, work the Clean and Clear down to the roots. Put on your shower cap and soak the concoction for half an hour before rinsing it.

Step 5. Now shampoo with original formula Aloe Toxin Rid.
Step 6. Put on your goggles, make sure you have your gloves on and shampoo your hair with a dash of Tide detergent.

Step 7. Rinse with warm water after shampooing with Zydot Ultra Clean. Some people will repeat this process multiple times. Remember that the more damage done to the hair, the more drug metabolites leech out, therefore the user may choose to risk hair and scalp loss in exchange for a chance to pass a drug test. Finally, if your hair is overly fried, they may choose for body hair instead, so proceed with caution.

If you have ten days to pass the drug test, you can try the Jerry G method, which involves bleaching and colouring your hair.

The Jerry G Method

Jerry G appears to be a real individual who is a smoker who participates in an online smoking forum (cannabis). He developed this means of beating a hair drug test. And, the method has been scientifically tested.

A study in 1997 verified that bleaching and dyeing the hair greatly reduced the detection of drug metabolites. According to the study

The majority of the average differences were between 40 and 60 percent (cocaine, benzoylecgonine, codeine, 6-acetyl morphine, and THC-COOH). The mean difference for morphine was more than 60%, while two cases (THC and nicotine) diverged by about 20%. 30% of the total (Jurado, Kintz, and Menendez)..

The hair was bleached and dyed only once for the study, and they have a range of 40 to 60 % reduction in detectable drug residues compared to untreated hair from the same donors. In every case, they studied, the drug content of the hair was reduced by bleaching and dyeing. The Jerry G procedure involves bleaching and dying the hair multiple times, considerably eliminating medication residues. Also, bleaching and dyeing are frequently used cosmetic procedures the safety of which is known, unlike putting Tide detergent in your hair, the safety of which is unknown.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Several boxes of bleach and dye with ammonia (you need to bleach your hair then dye it back your natural color)
  • Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo – this detox shampoo is said to be the finest for passing a hair follicle drug test. However, this procedure works with any shampoo, so don’t spend a lot of money on Aloe Toxin Rid.
  • Clean combs (make sure your comb is free of old hair or residues)
  • Zydot Ultra Clean Shampoo
  • Baking soda
  1. You’ll need about 10 days. Step one is to stop using drugs.
  2. Use a permanent hair dye which is the same as your natural hair color. If your hair looks bleached, they may opt for body hair so make it look natural. 10 days before the test, use your bleach and dye.
  3. Use your Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo to wash your hair.
  4. After ten days, repeat the bleaching and dyeing process. Wash with Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid.
  5. On test day, create a paste with your baking soda and a little water, then apply it to your hair. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Using water, rinse it out. Any leftover acids in the hair will be neutralized.
  6. Wash with Toxin Rid once again.
  7. Wash with Zydot Ultra Clean Shampoo, your second hair follicle drug testing shampoo.

This method has science on its side. Two rounds of bleaching and dyeing may be strong enough to make drug metabolites undetectable.

Home Detox Remedies
  •  Bleaching and Dyeing:  If you don’t want to use any of the methods above or you don’t have time, your best shot is just to do one round of bleaching and dyeing your hair back the natural color before the test.
  • Alternatively, you could try shampooing multiple times with Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid . Some argue that the Macujo Method is only effective because of the propylene glycol in the Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid. Use Zydot Ultra Clean instead if it’s too pricey.

Do’s and Don’ts

DoDon’t
  • Do use Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid if the cost is not prohibitive.
  • Do bleach and dye your hair with a kit that contains ammonia.
  • Do cease smoking when you know you will have a drug test. Drugs can leech into the hair from your sweat.
  • Don’t use Nexxus Aloe Rid, it’s not the same formula.
  • Don’t spend more than you can afford on detox shampoos. The most effective method is bleaching and dyeing and any shampoo will do.
  • Don’t cut your hair, they will either disqualify you or take hair from your pits or groin.

FAQ

Q:  What is the most effective way to pass a hair drug test?
A:  Our research indicated that bleaching and dyeing hair is the most effective way to decrease the amounts of drug residues in the hair. This is scientifically proven in several studies.

Even alcohol residues are decreased in treated hair (Kerekes and Yegles). According to the study:

“…an important decrease of EtG (alcohol metabolite) in hair could be found after bleaching and permanent wave treatment.”

Even if the technician looks for alcohol, residues will be reduced by bleaching and dyeing.

A subsequent study published in the Forensic Science International Journal in 2000 discovered that all drug levels in hair were reduced, including a decrease in the stability and detectability of benzodiazepines and opioids in hair after bleaching and dyeing (Yegles, Marson, and Wennig):

“benzoylecgonine (decrease of 24.6 and 36.4%, respectively), concentrations for codeine, 6-monoacetylmorphine and morphine decreased more significantly (decrease of 57.5, 88.6 and 67.4%, respectively) as well as those of diazepam (benzodiazepine), nordazepam and 7-aminoflunitrazepam (decrease of 39.7, 67.7 and 61.8%, respectively). The results in this study agree with those of other authors that bleaching affects the stability of cocaine and opiates incorporated in hair.”

Q:  What if I just shave it all off?
A:  They will take hair from the armpits, and if that is shaved, from the groin. If they cannot get a good sample, you may be disqualified from consideration.

Q:  Do I need to detox my body with detox drinks or pills?
A:  Absolutely not. This will have no effect on the drug metabolites in your hair. You have to break open the hair shaft and get them out. This is best done with hair treatments, bleaching, and dyeing, or a permanent wave if you like.

Best Detox Products

  1. Old Style Toxin Rid with Aloe: Either way, this shampoo is effective at removing drug residues from the hair. The original company, Nexxus, stopped making it. Then people started selling left-over bottles online and since it was rare, they jacked the price way up. So testclear.com saw an opportunity and made their own version which they say has the same ingredients as the original Toxin Rid with Aloe shampoo. It’s up to you if you can afford to lay down what kinda money on shampoo, but for now, this is what people are talking about.
  2. Zydot Ultra Clean: Zydot Ultra Clean is a trusted brand that is less expensive than Old Style Toxin Rid with Aloe. It is used in both methods of hair detoxification.

Zydot was tested and found to be safe in a study published in the International Journal of Legal Medicine in 2000

“…a slight decrease in drug concentrations was mostly observed, for example, cocaine (n = 10) –5%, 6-MAM (n = 12) –9%, morphine (n = 12) –26%, and THC (n = 4) –36% (Röhrich, Zörntlein and Pötsch).”

Drug metabolites were not brought below the level of detection with just one wash with Zydot, but they did decrease a little. That’s all your shampoo needs to do with the Jerry G method, as the bleaching and dyeing will remove the majority of the drug residues.

We will be waiting for the results of a scientific study on Old Style Toxin Rid.

Conclusion

If you have a hair drug test coming up, you can use one of the methods described above: Macujo Method and Jerry G Method. You can also bleach and dye your hair. If that isn’t possible, you could try the Macujo Method.
